
Seeking Public Comment on the Renewal of Four of Alaska's 1915(c) Waivers The Division of Senior and Disabilities Services (SDS) is requesting comment from recipients, waiver service providers, and other stakeholders on four of Alaska's 1915(c) home and community-based services waivers that are being renewed for another five years. The renewing waivers are: 1.) People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD); 2.) Alaskans Living Independently (ALI); 3.) Adults with Physical and Developmental Disabilities (APDD); and 4.) Children with Complex Medical Conditions (CCMC). Each waiver is currently approved through June 30, 2026; the next five-year renewal cycle begins July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031. The proposed waiver renewals can be viewed on the Alaska Online Public Notices webpage at: https://aws.state.ak.us/OnlinePublicNotices/Notices/View.aspx?id=222088 SDS will accept public comment on the four proposed waiver renewals until 5:00 pm on January 30, 2026. Once the comments have been reviewed and necessary changes are incorporated into the proposed waivers, SDS will submit the waivers to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) on or before March 31, 2026.
