
SUPPLEMENTAL PUBLIC NOTICE FEMA 4893-DR-AK I. Extended Public Comment Period The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) gave notice to the public of its intent to reimburse eligible applicants for eligible costs to repair and/or replace infrastructure and facilities damaged by Typhoon Halong (FEMA 4893-DR-AK), applicable to the Public Assistance (PA) program and the Individual Assistance (IA) program implemented under the authority of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 5121-5207. This notice was published on https://www.fema.gov/disaster/4893/notices on November 12, 2025 and provided a 15-day comment period. This supplemental notice hereby extends that public comment period through January 11, 2026. FEMA is accepting comments in writing at FEMA Region 10, 130 228th St SW, Bothell, WA 98021-9796 or by email to FEMA-R10-EHP-Comments@fema.dhs.gov. II. Updated Point of Contact The Federal Coordinating Officer has been updated from Willie G. Nunn to Lance "Duke" Davis. III. Updated Cost Threshold The minimal cost threshold ($364,000) has been updated to $385,000 to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Department of Labor (44 C.F.R. § 9.5(e)(2)(i)). Updated cost thresholds are identified in the Federal Register (Docket ID FEMA-2025-0179). IV. Supplemental Information The initial disaster public notice is specific to future eligible actions submitted to FEMA by eligible applicants. Actions will be identified by applicants in coordination with the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM). To provide clarification, neither the notice, nor the term "relocate" are applicable to non-routine actions, large-scale actions that would warrant individual public notice, or to actions that are not eligible for the referenced grant programs. Examples of routine actions covered by this notice include the repair and/or replacement of individual infrastructure and facilities such as a boardwalk or public building. Response and/or recovery actions, subject to this notice, which may be eligible for FEMA assistance have not yet been identified or submitted by an applicant for review. The DHS&EM and FEMA are still accepting Requests for Public Assistance (RPAs).
