NOTICE OF A COMPLETE APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF NEED THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH The Department of Health (Department) has received an application for a Certificate of Need (CON) for the health care facility project described below. Applicant's Name/Project Name: Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH)/Adult/Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health Expansion Project Service Area: Fairbanks North Star Borough, Denali Borough, Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, and Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area Project Description: FMH plans to enhance its inpatient behavioral health services for both adults and adolescents. The proposed project will add a new four-bed inpatient adolescent behavioral health unit to provide acute care for minors, as well as convert two general adult psychiatric beds to two higher-acuity adult psychiatric beds within the existing 20-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit. Additionally, the adult common space, nursing station, and two rooms will be remodeled. Total Estimated Project Cost/Completion Date: $6,200,000/December 2026 Application Status: The application is complete in accordance with 7 AAC 07.050. A CON Program staff analysis of the application and recommendation must be submitted to the Commissioner within 60 days after this notice is posted on the Office of the Lieutenant Governor Online Public Notices website, https://aws.state.ak.us/OnlinePublicNotices/. Note: additional time beyond 60 days—though not to exceed 30 days—may be granted by the Commissioner. A decision by the Commissioner must be made within 45 days of receipt of the staff recommendation unless additional time is required for the Commissioner to render a decision.
