ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION OF OIL AND GAS Notice of Issuance for the Director's Preliminary Determination of State Lands Subject to Oil and Gas Exploration in the Yukon Flats Area The State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas (DO&G), intends to evaluate the acceptability of a gas exploration license proposal in the Yukon Flats area. The proposed exploration license area consists of state–owned unencumbered land within Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 1 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 1 W., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 2 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 2 W., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 3 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 4 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 5 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 6 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 7 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 8 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 9 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 10 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 11 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 12 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 13 E., Tps. 14 thru 23 N., R. 14 E. Fairbanks Meridian DO&G invites the public, agencies, and other interested parties to comment on the preliminary determination that the state land in the Yukon Flats determination area may be available for oil and gas exploration licensing. To be considered, comments must be received by 5:00 pm on April 6, 2026. After evaluation of the comments received, the director shall issue a final written determination of the state land that is subject to exploration licensing in the Yukon Flats determination area as required by AS 38.05.131(c).
